What this site is

Every page here offers one drawing on one sheet, as a PDF laid out for US Letter paper and as PNG previews you can look at before you print anything. There are currently 98 of them across 10 sections. They are free, there is no sign-up, no email is asked for, and the file downloads from this site rather than from anywhere else.

Who makes it

This site is made and funded independently. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any publisher, art-supply company, studio or character licensor, and no drawing on it depicts a licensed character. We do not put a person’s name or photograph on these pages, because inventing an illustrator or a teacher to stand behind a coloring sheet would be a claim about the world that is not true.

What the drawings are

Every drawing on this site is drawn for it. Nothing is scanned, traced from a photograph, or taken from anywhere else. Each sheet is a single black outline on white with no shading and no gray tones, which is what makes it print cleanly on an ordinary home printer and take crayon, pencil or marker without the lines disappearing underneath. How we make these sets out the method and, more importantly, what it does not claim.

Two spellings, one set of drawings

This site serves two English markets from one address, and the difference between them is real rather than decorative. The American pages sit at the top level and the British ones under /uk/; the drawings are the same files, the words are not. Six subjects are called something different in each market and their page addresses follow the word rather than the drawing, so the same outline is a fall sheet on one tree and an autumn sheet on the other. The PDFs differ too: the American sheets are US Letter and the British ones are A4, which is a different page rather than the same page relabelled.

Why there are no words inside the pictures

No drawing on this site contains a letter, a number or a word anywhere inside it. The title at the top of each sheet and the caption underneath it are set as type at the moment the PDF is written, not drawn into the picture. That is a deliberate constraint rather than a style: it is what lets the same drawing appear on a sheet in another language without a single line being redrawn, and it is why a page here can never accidentally ship a word in the wrong language to the wrong reader.

What we do not claim

We do not claim that coloring is calming, that it helps anyone concentrate, that it develops anything, or that it is good for you in any measurable way. Those are claims about the world and we have not measured any of them. What we can say is what is on each sheet, how large the open areas are, how it behaves under a marker, and what it costs to print: nothing beyond the paper.

Corrections

If a sheet is wrong — the drawing is not the animal it says it is, an outline does not close, a page will not print at the size it claims — we would rather know. There is an address on the contact page, and corrections are made by replacing the sheet rather than by adding a note underneath it.
